FAQ about bauplus®

Answers about our products

What is the Penetrat® capillary sealing process and how does it work?

The Penetrat process is a rigid sealing system that utilizes moisture in the masonry to penetrate deep into pores and capillaries. There, the sealing slurry gels and crystallizes, permanently sealing the water pathways.

How does bauplus® Penetrat® sealing slurry differ from conventional waterproofing slurries?

Unlike conventional waterproofing slurries, which only form a surface film, PENETRAT® penetrates deep into the masonry and creates a durable, substrate-active seal – even under mechanical stress.

How is bauplus® Penetrat® sealing slurry applied and how long does the process take?

After removing the old plaster, the cleaned surface is coated with the PENETRAT® slurry in three coats. The exact duration depends on the size of the project – the waterproofing can usually be completed in just a few days.

What is bauplus® PE-Stop 401 and how does it protect masonry and concrete?

PE-Stop 401 is a siloxane-based hydrophobic treatment. It penetrates the capillaries of the building material and forms an invisible, water-repellent silicone resin. This keeps the masonry dry and protected from frost and dirt.

Does bauplus® PE-Stop 401 change the color or appearance of the surface?

No, PE-Stop 401 Hydrophobic Coating does not form a surface film. The water-repellent treatment is completely invisible and does not change the color or appearance of masonry or exposed concrete.
