Our Story: From Pioneering Achievement to Innovation Leader

The roots of bauplus® reach back to 1956, when Werner Sprenger Sr. founded bauplus W. Sprenger & Co. and registered the name bauplus® as a trademark. Then, as now, our goal was to reliably protect buildings from moisture and water.

In the early years, we focused on renovation projects – a niche market at the time, as waterproofing played a negligible role in new construction. As the first company in Switzerland, we installed so-called “wall lungs” to combat rising damp, setting new standards in building waterproofing.

As early as the 1960s, bauplus® developed its own construction materials and waterproofing systems. Our proprietary product, the bauplus® PENETRAT® Sealing Slurry, is still used internationally today and stands for deep-penetrating, long-lasting waterproofing.

Driven by innovation, we continued to move forward: As early as 1979, we were one of the first suppliers in Switzerland to use reinforced liquid plastics for waterproof insulation. Our expansion into Eastern Europe and the founding of bauplus Belgrade in 1990 underpin our international expertise and experience.

Then as now: Owner-managed, collaborative, and future-oriented

Since 2025, we – Joerg Heeb and Claudio Bianchi – have been leading bauplus® into the future as successors to Werner and Lilian Sprenger. As managing directors and partners, we personally stand behind the renowned bauplus® quality and support you from individual consultation to successful project completion.

Our commitment: Long-term, collaborative partnerships on equal footing – with you as our customers, as well as with architects, planners, and construction companies.
